Their front page of their Yahoo group currently contains a photo of Sharpe/Harper models they are getting cast for their Napoleonic skirmish game. Based on the descriptions of the characters in the books, they look quite good, IMHO.

Weeeeeel. I was curious to see their Napoleonic rules, Le Feu Sacre (LFS), since it looked like a good tactical set to play when we didn't want to play gigantic battles with AOE. And I was curious to see their WWII supplements for the Pacific (which Flames of War does not cover). So I ordered the PDFs for those. And some of their seasonal supplments. And then the supplement for LFS. And then some of the other rules, because the bits in the seasonal supplements about them suggested that they would be cool too.
So now I have
I Ain't Been Shot, Mum plus In The Shadow of the Rising Sun, Fall of the Lion Gate, and Bloody Burma
Le Feu Sacre plus A La Baionnette
Triumph of the Will
If the Lord Spares Us
Kiss Me, Hardy
Bag the Hun
and all the seasonal specials
Phil, it turns out, has Le Feu Sacre too. We are talking about trying to run a La Haye Sainte scenario for that to test it out. And I am thinking of organising a Spanish Civil War scenario for Triumph of the Will, since SCW is one of the few periods beside Napoleonics and Rev War that I have a lot of figures already painted for.
Kriegspeil looks REALLY neat...

Date: 2008-02-23 01:04 pm (UTC)I also strongly appreciate the amount of support that TFL supplies for their products, from extra scenarios and rules, to the authors chatting online, to the often detailed expositions of the design concepts behind the game, which are essential (IMO) to understanding how the game is supposed to play.
