As he pointed out, the reporter was almost disappointed to find that:

The Furry convention wasn't a sex thing but the exact opposite: an innocent world of children's-book animals, where a 3-year-old can roam with impunity and a maladjusted kid can enter the room with nobody leaving.

There *are* a lot of weird people out there. But not all of them are scary...

Damit. You mean that that episode of CSI about the Furries humping in a giant pile was bullshit. I was working on some costume ideas too.

Honestly? By the broadest definitions of the term, *I'm* probably a furry simply because I like the sort of art that my friends swandog and archteryx do, plus I can identify with a lot of the things they describe--when I was a kid I'd make wings and stick them on my back and try to get a running start so I could fly, I'd dream about being a bird pretty often, etc. Do I have case of "species dysmorphia"? No. But I do know some folks who feel that they do--AND they're disgusted with the "fandom" as a whole because of some of the directions it's gone in. I know swandog has been really upset about the advent of "cub porn" anthro art. You have pervs in all subcultures, is what it comes down to. I think furries just get a bad rap because of things like that CSI ep, personally.
