How unsurprising that in the past 24 hours, DH status posted these remarks:

Date: 2007-10-27 01:46 pm (UTC)It is so weird that your (and other's) experiences with Dreamhost have been so much worse than my own. I think it has to do with which servers within Dreamhost you got randomly assigned to when you joined, or something like that... which is pretty sad.
My persistant problem with Dreamhost (really my only problem with them) is the horrible slowness of their sites for me because of a flapping router that is not in their control (it's by owned by one of their bandwidth providers, but the one I seem to hit all the time when connecting from my house and from work). I am moving my mail and Drupal sites to another service soon (still shopping); but for simple blog hosting I am very happy with Dreamhost - but understand I got lucky with server assignments.

Date: 2007-10-27 03:13 pm (UTC)From what I've read about DH, I'd guess that you (and Kathy) have been very lucky so far with DH, but I wouldn't expect that to last. They seem to be simply adding as many people onto their service as fast as they can, with no particular thought or care for customer service or standards of quality.
