Yeah, well, I got done none of the things I planned to do last weekend.

On the other hand, I did:
  • finally see the new Harry Potter at one of the Smithsonian's IMAX theaters (!)
  • have a leisurely Saturday morning, going out for coffee and groceries with my sweetie
  • see all the old timers from DC United 1997 play in the testimonial for Marco Etcheverry
  • see DC United (2007) get their asses pretty well handed to them by a Columbus Crew that were done for the year but clearly wanted to go out with one of the few wins at RFK their team has managed in 11 years
  • have a lovely quiet Sunday morning of sleeping late, munching cranberry muffins (made by the talented and lovely [livejournal.com profile] soccer_fox, and watching more MLS soccer while disentangling a large ball of fine yarn that had been "handled" by some cats
  • spend Sunday afternoon and evening with my love and in the excellent company of [livejournal.com profile] gr_c17, [livejournal.com profile] redactrice, [livejournal.com profile] shy_kat, and [livejournal.com profile] john_arundel and his lady wife at the Maryland Renaissance Festival. Really quite entertaining.
  • have a quiet night home, watching "Cold Feet" with Herself

Well, on to getting stuff done... First stop, working on online photo albums...

I don't think it will cause the relationship to unravel. :-D

What a yarn! Y'all are sew funny.

(I'm sorry, I'm sorry!)

Ahh, yes. Yarn seldom appears without some kind of a reason, and as a great enthusiast of fiber arts, I'm always curious as to what the reason might be! Especially when the yarn owner appears to be of the male persuation.

As for the knitted/crocheted debate -- I am a fierce advocate of both. For things that you want to drape or flatter, I think there's nothing like knitting -- I wouldn't, for example, crochet a sweater. But when you want something warm and homey and comforting, a thick fluffy crocheted scarf or blanket is hard to beat. In my opinion :)
