The only reason I knew about this was because of my work, which is highly tied to agriculture. I've heard a lot from farmers and agriculturists about the insanity of some parts of the farm bill.

As you know, farm subsidies have been one of my pet peeves for years. Nothing makes me feel more impotent (mere blocks away from the Capitol though I be) than the complex, impenetrable, nonsensical system of U.S. farm subsidies that has accumulated over the decades. I despair of anyone ever being able to achieve a wholesale fix of the system.

But articles like this help, a little.
