Formula De Tournament

This year GCOM is hosting its first ever Seasonal Tournament, and the featured game is Formula Dé. The Seasonal Tournament will involve racers from all over GCOM coming together on scheduled nights to run in races that parallel the Formula One Grand Prix racing schedule. The seasonal tournament will run from the beginning of March to mid October (8 months!) and the victor over the full season will be awarded a plaque and a set of 10 painted metal Formula Dé cars at Euro Quest 2004 (Second and third place finishers will each receive a certificate and a painted metal Formula Dé car).

Our Formula Dé season will last from March until October. Races will be held at existing GCOM locations, at their regularly scheduled game session, and we will have at least one race at every location that wishes to participate. By doing this, we hope to bring gamers together and give them a chance to visit new GCOM locations, meet fellow members, and experience a unique, long-term tournament. Game Days will also have a race scheduled.

Anyone can join the tournament by just showing up. We will teach the game to anyone not familiar with it during the practice session before each race. Each player's best six results count for the standings, so you don't have to attend all or even most races to have a chance to win the tournament. To be kept up to date on the progress of the season, send an email to rich@rtgames.com.

The next race is set for Sunday, April 25th at GCOM's Game Days convention.
Rich Shipley is the race marshal. The practice and teaching session starts at 11AM with the race beginning at 11:30. All Game Days attendees are invited to join in.
