from the BBC:

As was the case in Iowa, our correspondents adds, Democratic voters seem less concerned about the fine print of the candidates' policies than their ability to beat Mr Bush in the December election.

As one voter put it, she would vote for her cat if she thought it could defeat the president.

In the spirit of doing what is best for the country, I am volunteering to support one of my cats in his bid for the presidency.

The choices:

  • Gilbert: older, grumpy, handsome, compassionate to those in need, but demanding and sometimes querilous

  • Guildenstern: middle-aged in cat terms, gentle, good looking, but not very smart, good at achieving a balance, but emotionally needy, drools when he's happy

  • Phineas Finn: young, excitable, very athletic, inquisitive, intelligent, quiet, good at listening and sniffing out the issues, but prone to fits of hyperactivity

  • Nicholas vanderPoele: brash, energetic, talkative, clever, adventurous, but also belligerant and prone to see all issues in terms of the amount of force necessary to resolve them.

Thoughts?

I'll be a stoolie for Droolie. The ONLY thing you can
find wrong with him is emotionally needy? Tell me who
gets sucked up to more than POTUS? It's the PERFECT
job for the guy.

I'd support Nicholas for VP. He'd serve as a fine counterpart personality-wise to Droolie. :)
