request for advice from locals

Anyone in the greater DC area (preferably northern Virginia, but beggars can't be choosers) know of an attorney they would recommend for some minor work? The guy I used for the divorce was AWFUL, and the person Chris consulted was a bit expensive, but we need to draw up a simple contract and probably a power of attorney.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

One and the same. I thought you might recall (physically and metaphysically) the close resemblance to my picture.

No--in fact I had to Google the name to even identify it, I fear.

No, not at all put off. Startled, perhaps. :-) And let me consult with C., but I would think your offer would be gratefully accepted. Whatever our differences in the past, we've both always thought of you as a very serious, responsible professional and a very honest and decent person.

Given the shabby way I allowed our friendship to come apart, those are very kind words. I'll wait to hear from you- and my best to C.

I spoke to her, and she'd be delighted to talk over our needs with you. She's in crunch time at work (CBO is about to put out one of its big annual reports next week and then the next one after that), but any time from mid-February onwards would be good for her.

If you've got the time, let's you and me find some time to meet up before that, catch up a bit, and so on. This next weekend is pretty booked for me, but the next couple are pretty open as far as I know.
