It turned out all the car needed was a new fuel injector hose (the old one was worn righ through). So ~$35 later... But I had to refill the fuel tank--between driving to work and home yesterday and driving to the garage this morning, I lost half a tank of fuel!

Dave had that problem with the old Suburban he had for hauling. It drove him and his mechanic friend crazy that they couldn't figure out what was up.

That's great it was something so simple!

Try not to think about the pollution involved in leaking half a tank of gas; it wasn't your fault, and you got it fixed as quickly as you could.

Yeah, some of my co-workers kidded me about how Greenpeace would be after me!

I think the fact that they were willign to do it for me right away was due in part to the fact that they are good guys (though the aged sage that mans the counter always seems thrown into the depths of despair when I say I'm goign to wait for the work to be done), and in part to my just having dropepd $300 there having the new starter motor installed.
