I did want to say how much I enjoyed the games party that redactrice, shy_kat, and I had. gr_c17, poliscidiva, beckon, and standsquiet were all there, and we had a great time! They are all such very nice people and such fun to spend time with.

Some of us watched the DC United game. Carcasonne, Guillotine, Ninja Burger, Apples to Apples, Memoir '44, and probably some other games I'm forgetting were played. Tasty food and drink were consumed. Cats were petted. gr_c17 spent the night, and then he launched into doing all the dishes the next morning, a thoughtful gesture that I aided and abetted by doing the drying up and putting away. We had some coffee and talked while I marketed some of my Warhammer figures to him. ;-)

APPLES TO APPLES!! That is one of my favorite games!!! Okay, I have to tell you the best A2A story ever: when my friend Dave was proposing to my friend Meredith, they were playing A2A, but Dave had given wedding-related red cards to the other players and stacked the deck so when a particular green card came up, everyone else would take that as a signal to use the red cards they had gotten earlier. While Meredith was judging (and didn't even put two and two together that all the cards dealt with weddings!), Dave whipped out the ring and the rest is history. :) I was in Leeds at the time, but it's still my favorite story about that game. :D

Awwwww! That is such a lovely tale of geek love! :-)

BTW, apparently one of the LJers I read has been part of an effort to produce a "British" version of AtoA.
