Unfortunately, the economy of Cape Breton being what it is, most of them are away in the big city, working (or starring in TV series about the US ;-). There were a couple of lovely examples of Canadian womanhood who I had the pleasure of chatting with in pubs or shops, but they seemed pretty happy where they were. :-)
And the same weak dollar I've been bewailing in other contexts was a bother there too. With the currency transaction charges from my bank and credit card, most of the CAN$ I spent cost me almost an equivalent amount in US$.
Are we having a lads' night tomorrow? I have wee gifties for you and Mr Bryan.
Thanks! I sent your mum a postcard, as well as you guys. I got to spend a whole evening listening to the Beatons and one of the Frasers jamming. She would have died. :-)
