oddities one forgets

winterbadgerI picked up a mass market paperback novel off the bookshelf to read the other day. It's from 1973. It cost 95 cents. It had a cardstock four-colur CIGARETTE AD in the middle of it. BOUND into the middle of it.
Sometimes I miss the past (*my* past, let alone other peoples'). But some things about now are just fine.
