OK, so at least my scheduling is a little simpler after last week. :-/

And I'm feeling a yen to travel. So, planning is back on for my late summer/fall trip. I know the assembled multitude voted for the islands last poll (either the Hebrides or the Orkneys), but since I have friends alogn the east coast who I'd like to at least say "hi!" to, I'm thinking I might try exploring that region this time around. I also want to stay far away from Scary Midge-Dom if I'm anywhere near Bitey Season, and so the easter the better :-)

Must save leave days! And cash.

One of these days, I must get to the Orkneys. I want to see the Viking ruins there!

We'll be in Ireland in August -- just booked cheap tickets on Ryanair. Horrible airline, but it is inexpensive!

At some point I *have* to see the Ring of Brodgar in person (having seen Ala Bates wander around it in Oliver's Travels) and see as many places from 'King Hereafter' as I can identify. :-)

I think I mispoke. Perhaps I could be a your backpack. I'd get carried around on your shoulders and wouldn't smell like foot at the end of the day. Plus, the view would be much better.

I think that might be no more happy an outcome for you, as I would want to store all sorts of stuff inside you and unzip you at regular intervals. Plus you'd get rained on a lot.
