I really have the nicest friends ever!

gr_c17 and john_arundel decided to take me out to dinner for my birthday (technically Saturday, but I'm going to not be around, so they decided to do it tonight). And they invited A. and redactrice and shy_kat, which pretty much made the evening complete.

I am dearly fond of all my friends and relations, but these five people are very special to me, and I was really thrilled to be able to spend an evening with all of them. I got nice cards and lovely presents: two bottles of single malt--a Jura and a 12yo Macallen--and a SanDisk m250 MP3 player, preloaded with several CDs. I don't know how premeditated the selection of songs on the player was, but I prefer to think that there's a message there. :-)

Amy, Peter, Chris, Bryan, Melissa: I love you all. :-) Thank you for a lovely evening!

I had a really nice time. I'm glad you did too. Your other pals did all of the arranging; we just had to show up. :-)

Not much premeditation on the MP3 selections. It was just a matter of seeing what stuff I already had ripped on my PC that you might like. I think all of them are things you own, except for the "new" (old) John Fogerty.

But yeah, there's a lot of Scottish stuff there. It's one of the few genres that you and I like equally.

Some of the Alex Beaton I listened to last night is stuff I don't think I remember having; at least one was something I don't think I'd heard him do before.

And I *love* having John McCusker's CDs on there. He is so amazing. And he reminds me of you. :-)

I'm so glad you enjoyed everything. I hope you like your mp3 player as much as C loves hers (yours isn't orange, but it does hols bit more). And we love you too!

Sorry I had to duck out--I hate my brain. Things just kept getting more and more unbearable until I hit my breaking point :-/

I was listenign to the player last night, and it was so cool! I could just walk outside to the porch and lok at the amazingly bright sky filed with racing clouds and listen to music at the same time. That truly is the best present that I didn't know I wanted ever!

That sounds like an excellent idea! Maybe once a month or so have a get-together? Fun!
