winterbadgerJust a quick entry to recap my relaxing (but too short!) weekend.
Saturday I lazed. A friend came by to drop off some wargame figures I had bought from him. I pottered onthe computer for a bit. Then I sat on the screened porch upstairs with Mel and read a book, napped for several hours, and worked on my taxes (until I realized I need to delve through a lot of back records to find information). In the evening, C&M and I went out to Temel for dinner, then came back to find kitten excitement!

gr_c17's place and we played Down in Flames and drank Newky Broon. He provided some tasty pizza for lunch, and we ravaged our way through the first German invasion of Poland campaign. I was unable with my "kites with peashooters" P.11 fighters to do more than slow down his Bf-109s, He-111s, and Bf-110s. Chuckling evilly, Bryan achieved a "historical" victory for the Luftwaffe.
I trucked back down to DC to meet A. for dinner at the Boulevard Woodgrill, but we discovered that there had been a watermain break and all the restuarants in Arlington were closed! So we headed over to the Lost Dog Cafe, a wonderful place that is usually packed. It turns out that Sunday night is the time to go there, as we were able to get a table right away. We had a good meal, then went back and hung out at my place for a while.
Tonight I'm heading over to the Game Parlor to watch a Flames of War game. Tuesday Bryan andjohn_arundel are kindly taking me out for dinner (as a birthday present--my birthday is next Saturday), then Wednesday night I'm helping redactrice to stuff many, many enveleopes for the Screaming Eagles. Thursday I'll probably try (again) to finish my taxes. Then Friday, A. and I sneak off for a quiet weekend on our own. :-)
