So I hopped up at what I thought was 8 o'clock, pottered around for a little, fed the cats, then went out and rode around the neighborhood for an hour.
Of course, I thought it was an hour later than the hour it was, but never mind :-)
I went down all the hills except the big one, and I went up and down all the sidestreets, and then partway up and down the Big Hill several times. Then, since it hadn't been quite an hour yet and I was having fun, I went around our cul de sac and back out several times, to practice turning in a complete circle while coasting. I love coasting :-)
My solution to the Big Hill is to take it in stages. Right now I go about three quarters of the way down and start. Towards the end of my ride today I went a third of the way up and back down several times, and then halfway up and down (still slightly scary). This way I get used to more and more of it, and sooner or later I'll be doing the whole thing and it won't be scary.
OK, so now I need to go turn all the clocks back.
