After checking with about half the hotels in the Loch Lomond area (Luss, Balloch, Drymen, Arrochar, Tarbet...) and having no luck finding a single room, I gave up and booked a room at the Glasgow Airport Travelodge. Since I have to catch an international flight the next day at 11.45, I might as well be right near the airport. I'll do whatever fun stuff I can in the park on the way down and not have the hassle of having to deal with traffic getting into the city on a weekday morning. *sigh* Which means I just need to get Thursday night lodging nailed down. here and look for IN512) which looks pretty darn interesting. The intro degree courses have been pretty mind-numbing so far, and despite getting an A in each I've had my doubts as to whether this was really worth the time I was putting into it. This, being a substantive course, will be my test case: if I find it interesting and enjoyable, I'll keep up with the program, otherwise I'm dropping it or switching to somethign that might have a broader applicability if I were to move, like history.

My camera arrived, and I took some shots of some of [livejournal.com profile] john_arundel's incredible modeling work on a science fiction tank; I'll put those up later once I've installed all the camera software &c.

I had a nice time meeting and trying to talk to [livejournal.com profile] redactrice's and [livejournal.com profile] shy_kat's French Servas visitor. He seemed like a very nice fellow.

Today is for: buying some birthday presents for my Dad and mailing them; playing "Ga Pa" with some wargaming friends in the afternoon; going to dinner at Marrakesh with some friends from work. Maybe watching DC United play New England (off the TiVo) when I get home.

Soon I need to post some reviews for movies I've been watching lately and books I've read. Right now I think I need to go taka e ashower so I'll be ready to go out when C&M come back with my car (theirs is inthe shop).

It's a shame you weren't able to get lodging up by Loch Lomond, because it's lovely up there, however at least it's not too far from Glasgow so you shouldn't have too much problem getting back.

Wow, the cottage really does have a great view.

My dad's cousin used to stay in Fort Augustus, at the southern tip of the loch and I always loved going to see them because the loch was so pretty.
