Bush uses 9/11 for politics

Not only is he using images from 9/11 in his campaign ads, the Republican Party will be having its nominating convention in NYC, and "News accounts have suggested Bush has plans to travel to ground zero during the convention, perhaps to give his acceptance speech, just as he used an aircraft carrier to prematurely proclaim the accomplishment of his mission in Iraq."
Doesn't sound like the president who said he had "no ambition whatsoever to use [9/11 or national security] as a political issue," does it?

I can only hope that his family is ashamed of him; his dad wasn't my favourite president, but I don't believe he would have stooped to this.

Have I ever mentioned that I really, really loathe Bush Jr.? I hate his smug "I can't do anything wrong" schtick, I hate his cohorts and family bullying people until everyone is so shellshocked they can't fight anymore, I just.. I loathe everything about this administration.

I didn't like his father, and I didn't like St. Reagan, but those weren't emotional reactions. I didn't agree with their policies, etc. This travesty of an elected administration makes my skin crawl. They don't even try</> to be subtle about stomping on our rights, they just do so and then give you (via reporters) a self-righteous (or in Jr.'s case, a smug) look, and ask if you don't want to protect the babies, or the children, or the elderly, or protect the country from the terrorists,. ("If you don't agree with us, then the terrorists will have already won.")

Er.. I'm ranting, aren't I? *blush* I'm sorry, Badger. I just feel true revulsion for these people. *wry grin* But I suppose that already came across.
