I've had a huge interest in Romano-Celtic things for a long time and I lecture about it from time to time. You really need to go to Hadrian's Wall sometime if you haven't been :-) K and I would love to show you and N around, although I think I am more familiar with the forts around the Wall than he is. The re-built portions are interesting (one of my favorites is Vindolanda - http://www.cavazzi.com/roman-empire/tours/empire/vindolanda.html) and the museums at the ones that have just been excavated and not re-built are excellent. I have a huge collection of books on the Romans in Britain and have been toying with the idea of joining a reinactment group of that sort when I move to the UK (as if I'll have the time to do everything I want to do. O! To be independently wealthy!)
as if I'll have the time to do everything I want to do.
If you go over on a fianceé visa, you might!
Ah! But here's the rub - I can't work over there while on a fianceé visa - nor am I allowed to do any volunteer work. So, no income = no hobbies. That's why I would prefer to get my marriage visa so that I can get a job immediately (or as soon as someone will hire me),

Well, you've got a point there.
