tooting my own horn, for once
Nov. 9th, 2004 02:32 pmOK, maybe not so lucky in love, but doing OK in the academic department:
:-D
I have graded your thesis proposal, and you have received the maximum grade of 100 (A+). This is an outstanding thesis proposal, both well designed and well written at the graduate level, with no discernible errors in grammar or spelling. Your research design is also excellent, with a well considered hypothesis and supporting research questions. Your number and variety of sources used is well above average for this kind of proposal. I strongly encourage you to pursue this proposal in subsequent courses at AMU such as an independent study course (IN690). Well done!
Grade: 300

I wish fall weren't moving so quickly into winter; I'd like to savour it more.
I've been out on a few dates, including this one last weekend beckon and I were talking about. Some nice people, but nothing that's mutually clicked yet. I survive.
Been watching lots of movies lately, old faves and new things. Wish I had more time, I'd post reviews of them. Suffice to say I think I'm down to watching The American President no more than once a year now, but The Caine Mutiny is still good, Dirty Deeds was funny, Dirty Pretty Things was quite good, Relax...It's Just Sex was enjoyable and featured an actor who went to my (small obscure) college whose only claim to fame before was being on Doogie Howser. Chushingura was OK; good for what it was, but not likely to appeal to people who aren't samurai geeks (and I don't mean the "wow! Katanas are cool! I want to play a ninja!" kind of samurai geeks). Neverwhere was enjoyable; not as dark and nasty as I imagined it, but BBC TV's sci-fi people really can't do dark and nasty very well. I'm loving the current season of The Wire, too. (A special Baltimore touch, for you ;-)
Can I at least ask what your thesis is *about*? :-)
