This is being unbearably close. A nice surprise as Kerry whups Bush's ass in PA, but the northern midwest is looking bad and, well, surprise, Florida is horrendously close. California is going to balance out the current Bush lead, but there's still the southwest and the WI/MI/OH lump that looks cancerously red right now. I'm trying to decide whether to go to bed and hope for the best or stay up and see the worst as it happens. Of the 4-5 people I was hoping to share this with, one showed up. :-/ I hope this wasn't a symbol or a portent...

I think bed is calling me. This isn't going to be over for a while. I was hoping to get things done while watching this crap, but it's making me too sick. Maybe good news will greet us in the morning.... maybe.

About an hour ago, it looked as if WI, OH, MI, FL were all going Bush. Then 15 minutes ago it looked like MI, WI, and OH were all Kerry. Now it looks like OH is a tossup with Bush in a slight lead. But all of a sudden NEVADA is going Kerry.

This is going to be decided by a few percentage points in 2-3 states. WHich means there will probably be challenges and lawsuits and recounts. Not good, but at least some hope.

But I'm going to try to grab the hope you mention and take it to bed.
I'm so emotional about this... not sure if sleep will come, but must try. Not like obsessing about this all night is going to change anything.
