Jun. 16th, 2012 02:51 pmI spent several hours this morning and afternoon sorting through all the piles of paper I have sitting around waiting to be filed. I finally got 90% of them sorted into categories, and I was able to recycle quite a lot (though I don't doubt when I finish properly filing them I'll be able to recycle a lot more).
I found all sorts of fascinating things, some of which I had quite forgotten. But I didn't find what I had hoped to: the other 1099 from 2009 that could help me establish the cost basis of the stock I sold. So I'm going to have to pay the full amount of back taxes. :-(
I also found a coupon that I got when I bought my most recent set of contact lenses, back in March. It allows me to get $100 back from the maker. But only if sent in within 60 days of purchase. :-( I really need to be more on the ball!
