winterbadger: (badgerwarning)
Saturday it was sunny and pleasant during the day (when it was supposed to be beastly hot) and then poured buckets (with much exciting thunder and lightning) in the evening (when it was supposed to be clear). Sunday it was sunny, a little overwarm, but clear, when it was supposed to be cooler but cloudy and with some rain.

Last night and this morning it was broody and humid and still; not that hot, but so damp that when I got out of the shower this morning I could only dry off by towelling myself in front of a fan set on "high". When I dried off and put clothes on, they were promptly soaked (and I mean soaked--sticking to my skin) because it was so hot and humid and airless. So, especially with the threat of thunderstorms in the afternoon, I muttered a silent apology to the environment and closed all the windows and turned on the A/C.

And, of course, when I got down to the street to go to work, the sun was out, it was cool, and there was a breeze blowing.

I give up! :-)

Back to the bike. I didn't get in the full half hour this morning, but I am restarting my daily exercise regime as I promised the medico. And even the reduced bit I did kicked my ass, since I included a lot more of the neighbourhood hills than I have in the past. He said to be sure and get my heartrate up--well it did that for sure! :-) I need to do the full "down to the parkway, under Carroll, and up past the hospital and around the college" route to get a half-hour or more, I think. Still, good to get started... I'm still several hundred miles short of my goal for the year, and less than six months left to go...
