I went out to see 'Pan's Labyrinth' with Chris and Mel. It's late, so I will only say it was wonderful: imaginative, well thought-through, believable, and intriguing. Definitely worth seeing!

Rupert and I took our first constitutional of the year. Really, that's very sad, considering that it's the 14th! But work has been busy, there's been my class, friends, short days, late nights...

We took about half an hour to do about five miles in the park. I would like to have done more, but ever the macadam and gravels trails were showing signs of the recent rain, so the usually muddy bit on the east side of Woodburn must be a total pit. Plus I'm appallingly out of condition; I wasn't winded or exhausted by five miles, but it was more effort than it should have been.

I have to finish my weekly writing assignment and continue working on the paper, which is due tomorrow. If I have time after those are taken care of, I'll go for another ride tomorrow, longer if possible. I did well enough over the holidays with not eating too much, but I missed my exercise. I need to build up some tone in my arms and abs, too, which riding won't help with that much. And I wish the pulled muscle (or whatever it is) in my left elbow would heal up; it's been uncomfortable off and on, but it doesn't seem to want to go back to normal. :-(

OK, work...
