I had some great plans about how today was going to be ful of accomplishing stuff and getting the place cleaned up.
Apparently that's not going to happen.
I made breakfast, ate it, then unaccountably needed a nap. I lay down upstairs and petted cats for some time, then drifted off.
I called my folks and talked to them for a while. Tiresome and slightly depressing, but I should keep in touch.
Now I'm having tea and reading. I feel another nap coming on.
I do wish I could type better. It's such a bore typing away and then having to go back and fix all the typos.
There was some sunshine earlier, but it's mostly all grey again now. Either one is fine with me really. Wherever I live next, though, I want there to be more light. I was washing dishes in the sink upstairs after breakfast, and the diffused grey light coming in through the skylight over the sink was wonderful. I think I forget until I'm somewhere else during the daytime how much my apartment really is a black hole, especially when there are leaves on the trees (and there's little daylight when there aren't). It's really gloomy and depressing. I think I will be much happier when I live some place with more light. The cats might be happier too (thought hey don't seem *un*happy).
I'm really very tired of the voice in my head that stops me whenever I feel like complaining and reminds me about how much luckier and better off I am than some other people. Yeah, what? I'm also worse off than other people, but I'm not supposed to think about that because it's "envy" and bad. Why is the reverse some kind of wonderfully ethical self-correcting mechanism? Why did someone installt hat voice in my head? Can I get it out?
Maybe a screwdriver would work. Or a chisel.

Scotland infiltrates American advertising
Jul. 23rd, 2006 09:33 pmI just caught a clip of The Proclaimers "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)" is a Visa commercial on FX. It used about half of the chorus, but the hint of a Scots voice is all I need to go haring off to Google...
I've never heard of them before, so many thanks to Visa for introducing me to them. More about them from Wikipedia. OK, so they've been around for 20 years, and I'm just learning about them. This is par for the course for me and music. :-)
