Took the plunge. My new best friend (click the charcoal & red option).

I caught some rebroadcasts of the classic show The Prisoner on TiVo. That was such a fantastic show when I was three. It was in colour the whole time--who knew? (NB: I think the first colour television my parents got was some time in the Reagan or the first Bush administration. They still have never had either cable or satellite feed.)

DC United clinched a playoff berth, and with 3 games left, they could conceivably take the division title. They *could* go all the way. I'm not sure I believed that at the beginning of the season.

Bike: Day One--wow!

I took the morning off (I have the nicest boss in the world :-) and took my new buddy out for a spin. Well, started training myself would be more like it. I took an hour: half an hour of riding around a small grassy field, and then half an hour of riding up and back a nearby bike trail (part of the Accotink Creek trail) (fortunately with very low population density). WTF? It's 73*F (23*C). Inside my house. At 22.30 at night.

I thought fall was here; summer seems to have fought it's way back again somehow.

Autumn! Call out your legions! Repel the pretender! Take the throne that is rightfully yours! Reign supreme and crush the helotish minions of summer beneath your chariot wheels!
