something you wouldn't expect from me
Mar. 6th, 2005 10:11 amI am tired of winter.
Yes, anyone who knows me will find that hard to believe. :-) Maybe it's because I've started spending time with someone who is more sensitive to cold than I am. Maybe it's because she's been spending the last week somewhere warm, and I'm envying her :-) Maybe it's just because even *I* can get tired of being cold. But one way or another, I am very ready for winter to end. It's MARCH, for crying out loud. It's getting close to my birthday. I'd really like to stop having my extremities be icy.
Don't get me wrong; I'm not rooting for summer to come along. I HATE summer in DC. It's worse (IMO) than winter, by a long chalk. Cold? Curl up in front of a nice fire, or jump into bed and snuggle (your SO, your cat, anyone can snuggle). Hot and muggy? You can turn on a an or an air conditioner, but it just doesn't have the same romantic feel, and it takes lots more energy.
But I've had enough cold for now. No more snow, no more ice. I'd like to see some spring flowers, the trees leafing out in green, hear some (more) birds. It's time for vernality! :-)
