quick update
Feb. 22nd, 2005 11:47 amHad a nice dinner with
plutosonium last night. I got to hear about her horses, which is a great deal of fun, both because she is a great storyteller and because horses are much more interesting, have much more character, than I think I recognized until I met her (though since I read A Horse and His Boy many times in childhood, you'd think I'd have cottoned onto that). I also heard the story of the mousetrap, some about her latest camping expedition, and we talked about the issues associated with women and body temperature. She is a very cool person; I'm glad we're friends.
I came home and watched some more ER episodes from last season. Yeah, I got few chores done yesterday, and didn't teach myself how to play Downtown, but there's time enough for all of those and more, in due course. I *did* clip two out of three cats' claws (Gilbert carefully hid while this was going on). They all need to go in for check-ups; I'm thinking a day next month may be devoted to vet visits, the dentist, and getting the car serviced. If I can manage to combine all of those, it will be a satisfying accomplishment. I also need to get a few groceries and some more filters for the furnace; the amount of gunk on the one I pulled out yesterday suggests another reason we've all have been coughing and sneezing more than usual.
Had a chance to talk to N last night on the way home from Bethesda, and I had a call from her this morning too. She's having a good time catching up with friends and getting ready for her engagements there. Still working out whether she'll be back Thursday or Friday. She's also been luxuriating in the company of a friendly Maine coon cat in the household where she's been staying; lucky her! They're such beautiful cats. It's awfully nice to hear from her, even when she's off on the other side of the country. I have such a thoughtful love! :-)
