I'm not going to comment on some of the personal stuff that's been going on. By and large, I think that most of the people who need to know about it do know about it. I'll catch up with others in a less public medium.

Life goes on, and sometimes it brings good stuff along with bad. I got notified this morning that I got a big raise (about 25%); I'm finally getting paid something like what I think I'm worth to the company. My boss apologized for it not having come earlier and emphasized that I'd still be eligible for consideration in the spring when we all have our performance reviews. So I have 4-5 months to do some really good work and demonstrate they should give me another bump up. :-) He also said nice things about how much he appreciates the work I do and how important it is to have me on the team. Easy to say, but it's the _absence_ of acknowledgement like that which has rankled sometimes in the past in other jobs. I'm learning my new tasking, and it seems like stuff I can do and that's worthwhile, so no problems there.

Soccer tonight; I may try to slip down to Springfield beforehand if there's time and pick up a copy of the new Warhammer 40K miniatures rules. I got their latest computer game and played it until far too late last night, after having watched the VP debate. Dick Cheney as an Imperial Guard commissar? I can see it. :-)

Sorry I haven't been posting much, but between work and other commitments, I just don't have as many opportunities.

Oh well, a belated raise is better than none at all. I remember being promoted from receptionist to accounts-payable and not getting an extra dime. Hope your review goes well.

Sorry to hear there's bad stuff going on (if I interpret you correctly), but WAHOO!!! on the ginormous raise! Congratulations!

Glad to hear that you are doing well. And congrats on the raise! I can no longer complain about underpayment (my current contract rate is truly obscene), but I can remember 4% across-the-board "merit" raises. Those sucked beyond belief, so I can imagine how good it must feel - even seven months after the review...

Well congratulations! I'm so glad you finally are getting some positive feedback at work and making something like what you're worth. I know it's bothered you a lot.

Drop me a line if you would, I'd love to catch up on what's going on with you.

Well, hey! Glad you're getting a raise at least.

Now if I can just get a job...:-)

Part time, preferably something with technology.

I've put in an application at Radio Shack, and I think they may be interested.

Hopin' hopin'...

Congrats! Ya know, if not love, money. . . but where both are recognition, one is better than none. (And lots of us love you, too.)
