hitches and vexations
Jun. 25th, 2013 02:11 pmIn The Land of Green Ginger (an excellent book that, in my opinion, will delight any reader, young or old), the fireworks display arranged to celebrate the nativity of the heir to Emperor Aladdin of China is delayed by what are referred to as "hitches and vexations". This pause in the dramatic narrative gives time for the plot to unfold.
I have encountered, once again, hitches and vexations of my own. I will not be going overseas to study this autumn. I may do so at some point in the future, but for right now, I'll be staying put. And looking to see what different an unexpected ways the plot chooses to unfold.
