How hard it is to get rid of stuff you don't want any more but aren't quite prepared to throw away.

I'm trying to clear out some of my wargaming figures &c. that I'm almost surely never going to use. But while it seems like a waste to simply bin them, it's a real bother trying to sell them.

I need a break. Then I should go jogging, get groceries, and go out to dinner with friends (yay!)

Can you take them to a gaming store and ask them if they know anyone who would want them?

Give them to a teenager

..Or an older child even. Random acts of kindness can be rewarding.

Freegle or Freecycle?

Yeah, I don't have the patience or energy to sell things, so it all gets given to Goodwill or friends. ^_^

Are you in a real financial bind that you feel compelled to sell them rather than give them away, or is it just that they were initially expensive and/or you put a lot of time into painting them?

You should try bartertown Jan, especially for the historical stuff. I'm more than willing to help you out with anything historical on b-town, I have a decent rating, and I don't mind taking pictures and such-like. Although you'd still have to catalog them and what not. At this time I'd even venture so far as to suggest toss up your own post on bartertown with "available for delivery at cold wars" and see if you get any hits. (that would get rid of packaging and shipping, which are the biggest hassles).

I see your point. Myself, I just haul it over to Goodwill and take a tax receipt; but I expect that these figures are too specialised for that. (Though I bet some kid would love playing with the little guys even if she had no idea what they meant. >;-D )
