I really never will be able to get over how incredibly RUDE it seems to me for people to simply IGNORE invitations.

Yes, people are often busy with work or family issues, or sick, and I'm sure that they have many more important things to do than talk to me. That doesn't bother me.

Yes, people who really don't know me well may feel that responding to someone they're not familiar with isn't a big priority. I can understand that.

But when people I know well enough to invite to my home don't feel the need to even *reply* to an invitation...

Well, it sends me a strong message that I don't matter much to them. Which gives me a clear indication that I needn't bother issuing them any more invitations.

I recently had someone - a month after a birthday party I invited them to had happened - write to me and say, "I know you invited me to something a while ago. Whatever it was, I hope it was fun!".

*cringe*

Honestly, what IS it with people?

Now I'm feeling guilty about not replying yet to your question about going to some of the concerts at the Botanic Garden. But those aren't at your house . . . (excuse, excuse)

People do seem to be so wrapped up in their own worlds these days. I wonder if they only answer text messages sent five minutes before an event.
