I was contemplating writing another entry in my Vermont series when I stopped and thought, "Why?" They seem to provoke about as much interest as staged readings of "Journal of a Plague Year" in Norwegian. So I think I won't bother.

I'm getting a bit cheesed off journaling in general, I think. There doesn't seem to be much of a market for essays or discussion (at least in this one), and there's a limit to the number of links to stories about how stupid conservative politics are that I really want to be bothered posting.

So I may throw something up here from time to time if I can't resist, but mostly I think I'm going to take a vacation from LiveJournal (and Facebook, which I've never been fond of to begin with). I've still got the wargaming blog--that there seems to be a use for.

I've been reading, but with the school just starting, I don't have the time or energy to respond, much less debate. But that's everybody, not just you. :-)

I'm a regular reader....and enjoy your posts and your view of the world. Would hate not to see it on my screen as much. Please continue - or if a short hiatus is needed, I hope it recharges you.

Don't disappear! Things have been a bit heavy recently, but I'm still reading and will get back to posting sometime soon.

I read but don't respond as much as I probably should.

Journalling has a secondary purpose though, in addition to having an audience. In a few years time, you'll have this as a record for yourself. The primary audience of a LiveJournal, in my opinion, (as opposed to Facebook) is yourself.

It's interesting that you're doing this as I've just come BACK to LJ because Facebook was a bit too public for my tastes and I missed being able to 'pour my heart out' in a private(ish) place.

I also second the 'I read but don't respond as much as I should' comments above!

I second what [livejournal.com profile] thespis_mellie said! Also, count me among the ones who read with interest, but who respond way too little.

edit: I hate those lj-tags... sorry about that. :)

I enjoy reading your posts though I'm sorry I rarely comment, mostly because I'm quite overwhelmed with my own studies at the moment, so tend to find myself being drawn to the lighter side of LJ as an escape if that makes sense? I'll miss you if you go, though, and I agree with what one of the other commenters has said about LJ being of personal benefit above all.

I read, even though I don't usually have much to say.

Everyone gets different things from their journal, and if you want a vacation that is fine. We'll be here to read if you come back.
I read, but I've been so wrapped up in myself I've been a bad LJer

I certainly read your stuff, but my comments are always moderated, so I'm not sure if they are always welcome....
