Is Golden Key worth getting involved with or is it just a clever ploy to suck money out of university scholars?

I never bothered with them, and never noticed anyone thinking it was a deficiency on my part. The only honor society I ever joined was Sigma Pi Sigma, the physics honor society. Even there I'm not sure it ever did me any good outside of academia.

The latter. The only one I've kept up with is Phi Beta Kappa (and over here it means nothing anyway).

Eh heh. And AMU was gushing about how exclusive it is and such an honour. I knew I should be suspicious... :-)

Yeah, the only thing that gave me a little pause was the promise of scholarship money. But $500K spread across 370 countries can't go very far...
