I did not know chimpunks could climb trees.

I don't know why it had never occured to me that they might. They do look a little like wingless flying squirrels.

Nicholas could probably have told me. I'll bet he watches them for at least four hours a day...

Neat! I've never seen one in a tree either. They seem to prefer scurrying on the ground.

I know "chimpunks" was probably a typo, but I think they should always be called that from now on.

Yeah, one of them ran away when I came up the walk this morning and hid in the hole where one of the boards in the boardwalk needs to be replaced. I thought maybe that meant I shouldn't fix it, but then after I cam epast I saw him run out again, so I guess it's not "home", just a conveneient hidey place when one of the Biggers is coming.
