Prolly statistically normal, if somewhat amusing in a sick, sad sort of way. I still haven't seen it, but imagine I will out of curiousity. Most xtians know what happened to the man on the cross. They just don't show this sort of thing normally. If it didn't happen to this particular man, I doubt that it would have shown in major theaters.
Of course, I'll bet that it's fairly normal for a big audience film like this to have people die in the theater. *shrug* Just my opinion of course. I've never worked in a theater or checked the stats.
