just as I'm going to sleep...
Jan. 19th, 2006 11:35 pmEnd of a long day. Up earlier than usual, in to the office early (but later than I meant to be). Had to be at a meeting for work, wear a suit, talk. Slightly stressy as I got to the meeting late. Worked for a solid 9.5+ hours, taking very little time off for web surfing or emailing. Come home drained. Dinner, a little hanging out with the housemates, dozed off in front of the telly. Got up, gave the cats treats, made a cup of tea, off to bed. Settling in with the tea and a book and... felt... a damp spot.
A large one.
In the middle of the bed.
Smelling of cat pee.
*UNDER* the covers. So it's soaked into the mattress.
So much for sleep...
Maybe when I move I *won't* take cats with me...
EDIT: My mistake. NOT under the covers. THROUGH them. Duvet cover, topsheet, totally soaked. I'm thinking of throwing the duvet out at this point, as this is the second time. And that would be the second duvet.
EDIT: Well, an hour and a half later, I'm completely awake, the bed is fully changed (after I sprayed the mattress with cat-pee killer), and the bedclothes are in the wash. Good thing I was already half thinking of taking the day off tomorrow.
I'm *seriously* thinking about life without cats.

My grandmother used to have a Shih-Tzu that would pee on her bed when he was mad at her!

Date: 2006-01-20 11:39 pm (UTC)Of course then one has a nasty, stinky catbox in the bathroom; I'm not sure if the litter I use is flushable, and they make an unholy mess of the surroundings (the cats do, with the litterboxes).
My suspicion, especially since the wet clearly was in the sheets (it went up to the duvet cover, but it didn't go through, so it wasn't straight through from the top, as I though at one point early this morning), is that this was Mr Nicholas, the little badger...
