I brought a hobby project with me. Some little men to clean the casting flash off, basecoat, and (maybe) start painting.
I opened the box after dinner (better get them done before small boys show up and want to "help").
Despite (I'm positive) my having checked it, the top of the bottle of glue was open, and about a third of my brushes (more than a dozen) were coated with dried or semi-dried glue.
And, I had forgotten, all the little men come in two parts (plus their horse) "for more dynamic posing". They're about 10mm high. No way I can deal with that fiddly stuff at his point.
Bloody hell, I just wanted a simple, mindless task to do while watching a movie and instead I get another mess. Screw it--they're going back in the car; I'll do them when I get home. These projects always get finihsed at the last minute in a totally half-assed way because I don't plan ahead. The one time I plan ahead... *sigh*
Any the humidity, which has been mild all day, is descending again. My arms are sticking to every surface I rest them on, and I'm starting to sweat. [Solved by Huge Fan,]
Really? I wasn't even going to mention the bike I rented that had a defective seat and a rear brake that sounded like a ferry whistle. Can't I have just six hours together where nothing goes wrong? C'mon.
