I <3 Kate Rusby!

One of the things I discovered when trolling around the iTunes store was that I had somehow missed several releases by Kate Rusby in the past two years. I've just been listening to one of them, "Awkward Annie", and it ends with her cover of "The Village Green Preservation Society", an old Kinks song that I simply adore. And, of course, with her playing and her beautiful, lilting voice, Ms Rusby makes this gentle paen to the old-fashioned simple life just that much sweeter and more nostalgic.

I do so adore her! One of the many nice things about living in the UK will be getting to see her in concert from time to time.

In other news, I had a trip to the doctor today for a physical. Still waiting for the EKG and bloodwork results, and I'm supposed to go have a chest x-ray, both otherwise nothing out of the ordinary to report. He pointed out that I need to lose weight, and I agreed and said I'm trying to lose ~60 pounds (not very hard I've not been, lately, but that needs to change). He said that would be a good target, as I'd be much healthier and at less risk if I did. I really like this PA I've lucked into; he's nice, straightforward, calm, patient, listens to you, and talks sensibly.
