Subj: Publishing Scotland's Book Swap
Publishing Scotland is holding a giant Book Swap on 1st April 2008 at
Adam House, Chambers Street, Edinburgh from 11.00am to 2.00pm as
Publishing Scotland's celebration of the 500th anniversary of printing
in Scotland. The event will be run in conjunction with Edinburgh
University and Edinburgh UNESCO City of Literature.
You are all invited to come along and bring friends, colleagues,
children, anyone! We are aiming to have 500 people through the door!
The idea is that you bring a book along with you, either a favourite
book or one which you can recommend, write a couple of sentences as a
recommendation and then swap it for another book. Scottish publishers
are donating hundreds of books to kick-start the event and they have
also come up with some fantastic prizes to be given away.
If you are an author, then why not bring one of your own books along?
We are hoping to get many Scottish authors along to support the event.
We are looking for various ways companies can sponsor the event too.
We have a press and PR campaign which will gain momentum nearer the
event.
As I have more details, I will let you know, but in the meantime, if
you have any ideas about how you can become involved, please don't
hesitate to contact me.
