another nice weekend
Apr. 30th, 2006 05:39 pmI was feeling a bit stressed about the weekend, because I was committed to do a fair amount of stuff (OK, a fair amount of stuff for *me*, maybe not that much), but it has gone really quite well. After yesterday's bike ride, I went and cooked burgers for two hours at the tailgate, saw the DC United match (a frustrating draw with FC Dallas), went to the postgame party at the Capitol Lounge (where I got to see my friend and boss J. get royally tipsy), and came home without incident and without hangover. As a bonus, I didn't have to bring any drinks coolers home, which I had thought I might. I did take the supplies for the club membership team there and back for
redactrice, since she was off with her sweetie selling gobs of reenacting gear.
Today I got up early, wrote a scenario for one of my gaming groups to play, tidied up a bit, set up the scenario, went out and got food for everyone for lunch, then arrived home just as my guests (Michael and Stephen) were arriving. We had a nice game, including a long lunch which
shy_kat and
redactrice shared with us, finished the game, and got things picked up as we shot the breeze and discussed future games. I've just been doing some postgame tidying, and I'm going to go lie in the hammock with a book and enjoy the last of the afternoon sunshine through the leaves.
Life is good. :-)
