List ten things in a day that give you a moment of joy, and tag five of your friends.

1. My cats, especially when one of them wakes me up by sitting quietly next to my face and gently poking at me with a tentative paw
2. My close friends, especially my wonderful housemates
3. Trees (even if some of their by-products make it hard to breathe sometimes)
4. The sound of rain
5. A comfy bed, with a good book and a cup of tea, at the end of a long day, and sleep to come
6. Music, especially the voices and lyrics of Kate Rusby, Dar Williams, Dave Carter, Ellis Paul, or Billy Bragg
7. Books: big ones, small ones, thick ones, thin ones, books with lots of pictures and diagram, books with lots and lots of words, fiction, science fiction, fantasy, detective novels, short stories, poetry, history, biography, geography, theology, sociology, travel books...books!
8. Maps, especially well coloured and complex maps (really, most of the reason I play and buy so many boardgames is because I love maps; the games themselves are secondary...)
9. Not being afraid to be by myself
10. The crisp, cold air of an autumn morning (believe me, I'm really longing for that now)
