lovely weather
May. 13th, 2005 09:51 amI got home last night and settled into my hammock with some wine, some cheese, and a book, and only with the greatest reluctance did I emerge to feed cats and make dinner. I went back out later and just lay there and listened to the wind in the trees. I owe
redactrice so much for introducing me to hammocks; wherever I live next will have to have room for mine--it's simply blissful.
I understand it's been a bit nasty (hot and muggy) during the day the last few days, but the evenings and mornings have been lovely. Cool and breezy, just perfect weather. This house has its flaws (the way my apartment seems to be a biohazard zone for so many of the people who visit it, for one), but it's going to be a big wrench to leave it behind. Living in the middle of the woods and having a view of tree-covered hillside, the closeness to wildlife, the sounds of the forest, the shade of the trees, the beauty of the woods when they're filled with snow--it's going to be a tremendous wrench to leave all that behind. I wish I could just keep the house when
redactrice and
shy_kat leave, but I don't think there's any way for that to work. :-(
