Well, I had a very nice evening, dinner with B (the coworker) and some of her friends. They left right away, but she and I stayed and talked for a couple of hours, then went over to her place (where I didn't stay long, as the heat had been on all day (!) and I started wilting rapidly). Definitely future dating potential, a nice person, serious chemistry, but the second person now that I'm seeing who isn't sure about the whole poly thing and wishes I weren't. Hmmm. Really don't think that's going to change, though earlier this year I was less sure about that.

Anyway, as a result of a convoluted combination of wagers, dares, promises, and concessions, I came away from the evening with several nice kisses and the strong likelihood of more, but, well, erm, no beard. I'm going to have to see how much I'm willing to put up with my regular face (and the nuisance of shaving every morning). And I anticipate serious ribbing tomorrow. (sigh)

Mr Bush's main Democratic opponents for the presidency do not back gay marriage, but do not support a ban either - making the president seem firm and principled and the Democrats weak and vacillating, says our correspondent.
