...in my in box is now over 30 messages. They are now entirely messages replying to replies, all of which are pleas to stop sending messages or to "take me off this list" (cluestick application: morons, there *is* no list, other than in the To: field of the email you just created.)

The only way to have this thread end is if you all stop emailing. There is no "list", you're just hitting 'reply to all'. Stop replying and it will go away.

What I hate, almost as much as this, are folks who send an invitation to something and I know several people on the To: field. Their addresses are all displayed, and I invariably get several copies of the same message from people who know I would be interested, but they *don't check to see that I am already in the To: field*. ARGH.
