I always thought DS9 was the most thoughtful and character-driven of all the Star Trek incarnations. I might enjoy, mindlessly, some of the episodes of TNG or Classic (or even, gods help me, Veeg'r), but for long-term character growth and world/culture-building, nothing beats DS9.
Damn. Now I want to go back and watch those again. But we have so many "Top Gear" episodes in queue...
