Princeton: "What are you doing tonight?"
Kate: "Grading term papers. But it's Kindergarten, so they're very short"

The Teacher came over last night. I made us dinner, and then after dinner we graded a pile of her first-grade math tests. She thought it was remarkable that I was quite happy to do that, even enjoyed it. I thought it was remarkable that she would imagine I would be bored by anything I get to do with her; watching paint dry with this lady would be fun.

I am having the best time. It's so nice to date someone who is as affectionate as I am, who fits so naturally into my life (the cats have adopted her) and I into hers, who shares so much perspective and taste, but who has so much fascinating experience foreign to mine that I can learn from. She's sweet and kind and attentive, and she seems almost surprised to have someone be sweet and kind and attentive back to her. Every time one of us says, "Do you know..." or "Have you read..." or "I think you would like..." we find more connections. She's a little more cautious than I am, but every time I hesitate to nudge the boundary of our comfort zone, she is there, a step ahead of me, with her hand reaching for mine, saying "Come on! We've still so much to explore!"

I really, really like this woman. :-)
