This almost merits being posted to [livejournal.com profile] northwatfordgap

from MLSnet.com

"And while the [US top division, Major League Soccer (MLS),] continues to build soccer-specific stadiums, it's unlikely MLS will follow the [English Premier League's] model and have all-grass fields.

"In the United States some of the weather issues are a bit different," [MLS Dputy Commissioner Ivan] Gazidis said. "In an ideal world, we would all live in England where it always rains and there are lovely grass fields. But we don't live in that world."

Erm, some of us would prefer to live in Scotland, thank you! :-)

Come on over! :)

I think you're right in not posting it to NWG, simply because the model provided and the country cited in the quote are the same, as opposed to, say, equating the EPL with 'Britain'. The quote ignores Scotland, but then there isn't any reason shown here to include Scotland (or Wales, etc.).

Oh, but on the bus I found a Historic Scotland calendar of events. At Stirling Castle in May: 'Your chance to meet some of the most famous icons in history. William Wallace, Robert the Bruce and Mary Queen of Scots are just some of the personalities coming together for this legendary day!' I can't wait! :D
