Shot down again. K., with whom I had the nice date yesterday, replied to my post-date email saying she felt there was no chemistry and she would not be interested in seeing me again. Apart from the ego-blow, this is a bit of a judgement-blow too, as I thought we were both having a great time and getting along really well. Grrr. Not only am I unappealing, I'm unappealing and lack perception.

Plus no one at the club was up for a game tonight. *sigh* Time to go home and make dinner. At least I have the thrill of stopping to stock up on cat litter on the way.

As always, I appreciate when someone takes the trouble to say "Thanks but no thanks." Sometimes they don't, and that's REALLY annoying.

But I am disappointed, and dismayed. Like many single people, I find the holiday season loses some of its fun when I don't have an SO to go to parties with, get supersecret really clever presents for and so on.

On the other hand, I do have simply wonderful friends, and I get to spend lots of time with some of them, so that's good.

I went back to the list of people whose profiles I thought sounded nice, but I'm just too burned out and fed up at this point. A. (my friend in Glasgow) sounds really nice, and maybe something will work out with her if I end up over there. If not, well, right now I have the holidays to prepare for, a minivacation with C&M, and a class on Islam to take. Turns out he hasn't adjusted his 16-week syllabus for the 8-week schedule; he's just telling the students to do the work twice as fast! So I have LOTS of reading to do...

Sorry to hear it didn't work out as you might have liked. I suspect it was less to do with your perception and more to do with her being annoyingly indirect.

Or maybe just changing her mind. I figured that her picking up the check and saying "You can get it next time," was a pretty good clue. :-/ Apparently not; either she felt differently on reflection or that was her polite way of taking the sting out of the rejection.
