OK, here's something I am prepared to rant about.

I was reminded by the rain today that I would really like a proper pair of rain boots. I go hunting around on the web, and I find that--as a man--my choices are ...black. Or brown, dark brown. Green, if I buy Hunters. That's about it. Oh, look, a few in redneck camo pattern, yay!

For women, all sorts of cool colours and patterns. Hunter also does purple--how cool would purple boots be? No, sorry, women's sizes only. Bogs (Tuscany, Lanai, May Flowers, Ambrosia), Taylor (Dahlia, Bubbles), and Chooka (Peacock have some awesome patterns. Even the crappy patterns, that I wouldn't want (Burberry? really? does anyone who doesn't live in Essex wear Burberry anything?)

Grrr. Dammit, I'm just going to try ordering a converted size and see if I get lucky. At least from Zappos, if they don't fit I can just send them back.

well, that was a surprise

I was cutting a piece of meat at dinner, and my fork broke in half. Jammed my finger into the plate, and pulled the nail back. Ow!

About time I was getting some new knives and forks, though. These are... good lord, I think these are nearly five years old. Nothing at all when they're sterling, or even stainless, but these are some sort of base metal and plastic shafts.
